Northwest Georgia Youth Summit

On Saturday, February 23, 2002, the Northwest Georgia Workforce Investment Board Youth Council sponsored "Northwest Georgia Youth Summit 2002". Youth ages 14 - 18 from our fifteen counties gathered to discuss those things that are necessary for a person to be successful at home, in school, in their communities, and in the world of work.

A multitude of agencies were represented at the Youth Summit, including Juvenile Justice, County Extension Office, Family Connection Collaboratives, Department of Labor, local school systems, private business, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Communities in Schools, Girl Scouts, Workforce Development, and most important of all - parents of youth.

The Youth Summit was held at Floyd College in the Lakeview Building. Approximately 50 youth and 40 adults attended. At follow up Summit will be held Summer 2002.
