The Career Clusters are
partially based on the US Department of Education Career Clusters. The
jobs and wages were taken from the Georgia Department of Labor 2007
Edition of Occupational Wages for Northwest Georgia. The report does not
include wages for federal and many state and local government jobs. The wages are an
average for the fifteen (15) counties in Northwest Georgia (Bartow,
Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson,
Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker and Whitfield Counties).
Northwest Georgia includes counties from four Metropolitan Statistical
Areas (MSA) -- Chattanooga, Dalton, Rome & Atlanta -- so there will
be wage variances in the different counties/cities from those listed on
our lists. The minimum wage was increased to $6.55 in July 2008.
The wages that were less than that amount have been increased to reflect
the increased minimum wage.
